A typical Caribbean Honeymoon resort it is not, but for a romantic Caribbean island honeymoon you will have to go a long way to surpass the Golden Lemon Inn and Villas at Basseterre on the island of St. Kitts.

The traditional and elegant Golden Lemon has 26 individually decorated rooms by the ocean, in a converted 17^th century French Manor house. It has been a romantic getaway since it was converted with superb taste in 1963. It’s a genuine getaway because it is away from the tourist parts of St Kitts, being positioned in a small fishing village amongst coconut trees.

Any hotel or inn you select for a honeymoon getaway in the Caribbean, or anywhere for that matter needs to be luxurious, and preferably relaxing in a laid back sort of way and the Golden Lemon certainly achieves all of that.

You will have a choice of one of the Great House bedrooms or the spacious ocean and beachside villas each of which has a plunge pool and a lush garden. There will be fresh flowers in your room every day and the furnishing is a combination of antique and modern, all colour coordinated to great effect. The thick towels in the bathroom are a particular feature, and if you are in the Great House your bedroom will open on to a very comfortable verandah.
