You really wonder quite what you will find at the end of the track, when you suddenly emerge into a courtyard that instantly reminds you of a Mexican hacienda, with white walls, and glimpses of thatched turrets. If you arrive in the dark, the floodlit courtyard is truly stunning, and the personal greeting by name further reinforces that this is somewhere special.
You see the sun shining off the pool, and are suddenly aware of a group of what you assume to be staff members awaiting your arrival, and it is only then that you realise they are staff members, and that this is the Maroma Resort probably one of the absolutely best hotels on the Mayan Riviera.
