There are 66 villas each with its own swimming pool, and furnished quite beautifully, and in addition they come with a personal butler. There are two restaurants serving quite superb food, one international the other more Arabic along with occasional themed evenings on the beach. If you want to be active, there is a tennis court, fitness centre, and of course water sports. Now to Paradise Island in the Bahamas for the second of our best beach vacations

One & Only Ocean Club Paradise Islandcan be summed up in three or four words. The first is exclusive, then secluded, followed by tranquil, and then very definitely intimate. This is the place to be in the Bahamas. It was once the site of a private home and still retains that feel, and it is difficult to believe the Atlantis is under the same ownership, as they are total opposites. As a guest you can if you wish use the facilities at Atlantis but they may not come here. The prices are high very high but you get the quality of accommodation and the pampering and care you would expect for that level of expenditure. Sitting in 35 acres, there are two restaurants serving exquisite food, a golf course, health club and spa, two outdoor pools and six tennis courts. All of this without telling you that adjacent to the hotel is the best white sand beach for a very long way. The resort has nearly 100 guest rooms and the Dune restaurant is the finest on the island. Across the Pacific now for the next of our best beach vacations in the Great Barrier Reef

Hayman Great Barrier Reef is a 45 acre Queensland resort sitting on its own island, and it has just reopened after a dramatic update following some cyclone damage and it has just got even better. It's a big resort, with 210 guestrooms, suites, penthouses and villas covering six different accommodation categories from the luxurious to the very exclusive. Cap Juluca on the south west corner of Anguilla sitting in 179 acres, and recently renovated, overlooks one of the really great beaches of the world. This is Maunday's Bay, consisting of nearly two miles of eye watering white sand which is perfect for every water sport you can imagine. It looks somewhat North African with the domed Moorish architecture of that area which gives it an unusually exotic appearance, and this is extended into the rooms which have high ceilings, wooden shutters, sunken tubs, and everyone opens onto that fantastic beachbut each room opens directly onto the beach.
