Nanuya Resort Yasawa Island Fiji is situated on the Blue Lagoon, and we stayed there just after a week at the  Octopus resort.

We thought Nanuva was one of the most elegant small beach hotels we have stayed in as far as the South Pacific is concerned.

What really impressed us during our stay was the small touches, such as the plug in insect repellents in the room, especially as we had left ours at home!!

Another thing we love are nice toiletries in our room, and we were not disappointed at Nanuya, as the bures were modern, well equipped with ensuite facilities, towels, in fact all you would expect from a good resort. This of course included towels for the beach, and free water, which you can get from the bar.

The resort had everything................................

The Octopus Resort Yasawa Islands Fiji has one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches you will ever see right on its doorstep, and it is called  Likuliku, voted one of the top 10 beaches in the World.

It is a small resort compared to many Fiji island resorts, with seventeen bures

It is a relatively cheap option for Fiji insofar as Yasawa Fiji Accomodations go, with budget alternatives to the normal bures. By this I mean serviced tents and dormitories, and although we stayed in Poppy’s Lodge, which is their top accomodation, we did check out all the options, and found them to be very reasonable.

Poppy’s Lodge is really suitable for families with interconnecting rooms, air conditioning, with wonderful views from the day beds on the decking, and it is almost on the beach amongst the trees, and very close to the centre of the resort.

The fittings, the bed, in fact everything we needed for our short stay.

There are many reasons for staying here at the Octopus Resort...........

Sandy Beach Resort has one of the best tropical beach locations on the Tonga islands, never mind being on  one of the worlds best white beaches.

It is situated on Foa Island, Ha’apai Group, and can be reached from the international airport on Tongatapu in 35 minutes followed by a ten minute car ride.

That in actual point of fact is the theory, but it doesn’t always work that way, but the owner meets you at the airport, so if you are even several hours later than expected, don’t worry.

Life at Sandy Beach Resort  has its own timetable, and things do happen slowly in the South Pacific, but we didn’t go there for 21st century facilities.

We wanted an escape from the cocoon that 5* hotels have become, increasingly the same, no matter where in the world you have travelled to. What you will find at the Sandy Beach Resort is……………..

Presa Di Goa Country House

\"\"Presa Di Goa Country House is a country house which has been completely restored, and then furnished as one might have expected from the Portugese when Goa was a colony.  It has a wonderful feel to it, more like a home than a hotel which is a tribute to the owner. This is a real gem, and one that for the sake of future guests shouldn’t be publicised too much in case it ruins perfection.

It sits in the village of Nagoa in the countryside surrounded by rice paddies, and is really a place for romantics, for travellers as opposed to package holidaymakers. It is all peace and tranquillity here, and it is hard to believe how close it is to the beaches of Baga and Calangute.

This is a unique holiday environment  and…………

A Goa Travel Guide

Goa has a certain reputation, which dates back as far as the 1960’s, where it was regarded as a hippy paradise, a place for dropouts, and flower power, a not to be missed place for travellers, and probably regarded as the world centre for dope.

All of this whilst not totally inaccurate might put you off a visit to Goa,  which would be a mistake.  Sure Goa can still be the place for all night parties, and beaches crowded with people selling hash to fund their alternative lifestyles, but there is much more to Goa than that.

Australians call the Great Barrier Reef the eighth wonder of the world, and it's on every traveller's wish list. Alas, like so many reefs, this 1,500-mile stretch is ecologically fragile. But castaways can set sandal on the 'new' Wilson Island knowing that their creature comforts are based on sound environmental principles; heat and light are by solar power and each of the six tents are created out of natural materials. There are separate bathrooms for each tent.

Beachcombing and birdwatching, swimming and snorkelling, reef walks and relaxing in your hammock are what Wilson Island is about during the day. Wining, dining and socialising take place later in the communal Longhouse.
