The Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel is perfect for guests wanting a panoramic view of the Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island, because it has a prominent place on the waterfront in East Tsimshatsui.
In addition it is very comfortable, roomy, not especially expensive, and with great restaurants and bars.

Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel
When you stay in the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel room with a harbour view, then you get a harbour view with a vengeance. I had forgotten how beautiful it all was, until at ten o'clock at night the baggage porter pressed the automatic button to open the curtains, and there the full majesty of night time Hong Kong island Wanchai district was exposed to us.

Wakening in the morning the first thing we did was to sit up in bed as the curtains slowly opened, and we saw the busy harbour, boats, junks, and sampans rushing here and there, it was a highlight of our time in Hong Kong.

We were very pleased with our choice of hotel firstly because there were four of us, the children are 11 and 8, and the room was large enough to accommodate us all.
The restaurant we used for our meals, mainly breakfast but also dinner was Cafe Cool.

I have eaten in many restaurants buffet style in five star hotels all over the world, but this has to rank amongst the best, because you not only could have western breakfast food cooked as you waited but also a huge number of chinese delicacies as well. I have to confess we ate in several evenings because the food was so good.
The Tapas Bar was a daily stopping off spot, which reminded me of how much my children could demolish without apprciation of the quality or the price!! Happy Hour and two large glasses of wine for the price of one eased the pain, and the Tapas were as good as in many Spanish Bars.

English afternoon tea in the lobby was also impressive, and I haven't begun to explain how central the Kowloon Shangri La is to Star Ferry, Nathan Road, and all the necessary ports of call we tourists have to make.

Finally the Kowloon Shangri-La gave me a very good deal by dealing direct.
