The Faafu Atoll could be where you will choose to go on your Maldives Holiday, it has one of the best hotels in the Maldives, and possibly the most private and exclusive Maldives Luxury Hotel.

So where exactly is the Faafu Atoll in relation to the airport. The answer is that it is a considerable distance away, certainly a sea plane flight, onwards from Male, so if you are unhappy on a small plane, then perhaps an atoll closer to the airport would be better for you. Faafu is situated south of the Ari Atoll and South West of the South Male Atoll, it is  some 30 kms long and 27 kms wide, and consists of 23 islands, mostly on the eastern side, of which only 5 are inhabited. The north-eastern side of the Atoll has some superb diving.

The islands of the Faafu Atoll are relatively untouched, with beautiful beaches, and any Maldives holiday you choose to take here will be a wonderful experience. There are only two places tourists can stay, one is a five star hotel the other a quite unique experience.

Filitheyo Island Resort  is a relatively recently opened 5 star hotel with 125 rooms, and it is 120km from the airport, and is a 45 minute flight by sea plane. It is quite a large island with measurements of 900 metres by 500 metres, with beautiful beaches and the island is still unspoiled. 

The Rania Experience  is a 5 star deluxe, totally exclusive luxury yacht and private island. It is 122 Km from the airport, and 35 minutes by sea plane.
  

The Rania is something else altogether, as the yacht and the island will take a party of up to 12 people maximum. It takes the expression all-inclusive to a different level altogether. Not only can you almost dine on what you want, or drink what you want, there is everything from a dive master to a personal butler at your disposal. Rania is the only experience of its kind in the Maldives.
