The North Male Atoll or North Kaafu Atoll is the main centre of tourism and has the largest number of resorts. Located not far away from the airport runway, this sanctuary of white sand beaches, shallow turquoise blue lagoons and exclusive art resorts provides a great cross section of hotels to suit different pockets and tastes. Many of the resort islands are close to the airport so transfer can be made very quickly, often in less than 30 minutes by speedboat

When you consider which hotel or atoll you want to stay on, you need to consider the transfer time from the airport in Male. Do you want it only to be a few minutes by speedboat, or do you want to fly? The size of the island relative to the number of accommodation units. Do you want a small island or a larger island?  Are the number of rooms important, do you want a small intimate resort, or a large resort with more facilities? Are over water bungalows important, is surfing important, or scuba diving?

Angsana Resort at Ihuru  This is a 5 star deluxe hotel., with 45 rooms, 17 KM from the airport, and a 25 minute transfer by speedboat  

Asdu Sun Island Resort  is a 3 star hotel with 32 rooms, and 60 minutes transfer time by speedboat at 32 Kms from the airport, with a famous house reef only 20-30 metres from the beach.

Bandos Island Resort  is a 4 star hotel only 7 km from the airport and a 20 minute transfer by speedboat with 225 rooms. An early hotel first opened in 1972 

Banyan Tree at Vabbinfaru  is a 5 star deluxe hotel 17 Kms from the airport and a 20 minute transfer by speedboat, and it has 48 rooms.

Baros Maldives  is a 5 star resort only 16 Kms from the airport and is a 15 minute transfer by speedboat, and it has 75 rooms.

Club Faru is a 3 star hotel only 2 Kms from the airport and is a 10 minute transfer by speedboat. In this all inclusive resort here are 152 rooms.

Coco Palm Bodu Hithi  is a 5 star  hotel, and is only 40 minutes by speedboat from the airport, and around 29Kms, with 103 rooms   

Dhonveli Beach & Spa is a 5 star hotel 13 Kms from the airport and is a 45 minute speedboat ride. It has 64 rooms and is one of the world’s most famous surfing resorts

Eriyadu Island Resort is a 4 star hotel, which is 42 Kms from the Airport and a 50 minute speedboat ride, with 57 rooms.  

Four Seasons at Kuda Huraa  is a 5 star deluxe hotel with 96 rooms 20 Kms from the airport and a 25 minute speedboat ride.  

 Full Moon Maldives is a 5 star hotel 6 Kms from the airport reached in 15 minutes by speedboat, and it has 156 rooms.

Giraavaru Island Resort  is a 3 star hotel 13 Kms from the airport which is 15 minutes by speedboat or 45 minutes by Dhoni, and has 66 rooms

Helengeli Island Resort is a 4 star hotel 25 Kms from the airport and is 60 minutes by speedboat, and 15 minutes by seaplane, with 50 rooms.

Hudhuran Fushi   recently refurbished and reopened, with 137 guest rooms, and 26 new water bungalows formerly known as Lohifushi, this 4 star hotel is a 30 minute speedboat ride for the airport, and is popular for surfers

Huvafen Fushi  is a 5 star deluxe hotel with 43 villas and is 25 Kms from the airport, reached in 30 minutes by speedboat 

Kurumba Maldives is a 5 star hotel with 180 rooms some 3 Kms from the airport reached by speedboat in 15 minutes, and was the first resort in the Maldives over 30 years ago.

Makunudu Island Resort  is a 4 star hotel which is just 38 Kms from the airport, 55 minutes by speedboat, with 36 rooms  

Meeru Island Resort   is a 4 star hotel which is 38 Kms from the airport, 60 minutes by speedboat, or 20 minutes by seaplane, and it has 276 rooms.

One&Only Reethi Rah is a 6 star deluxe hotel 35 Kms from the airport, taking 55 minutes by luxury speedboat, and it has 130 villas.  

Paradise Island Resort is a 5 star hotel with 260 rooms, and is only 9Kms from the airport, and a speedboat transfer takes 20 minutes.

Soneva Gili Resort & Spa is a 5 star deluxe hotel, only 6 Kms from the airport, taking 15 minutes by speedboat, and it has 45 villas  

Summer Island Village  is a 3 star resort, 35 Kms from the airport, with a speed boat transfer time of 90 minutes, and there are 108 rooms 

Taj Coral Reef Resort  is a 4 star hotel some 32 Kms from the airport reached in 40 minutes by speedboat, and the hotel has 65 rooms.

Thulhaagiri Island Resort is a 4 star hotel, some 13 Kms from the airport, and a 25 minute transfer by speedboat, and there are 69 rooms.
